Desacralisation of Medium
He uses paper that has naturally worn or crumpled in the corner of the studio, collecting dust. By releasing the heavy expectations of the medium and liberating himself from the fear of failure, he can finally move the pen freely.
Cognitive Flow
While listening to philosophy, science, and complex discourse, the analytical self is restrained, and while consciousness processes complex information, the hand enters an instinctive state. It is the artist's own way of neutralising the painful moments of decision-making.
Organic Strokes
Once a line is drawn, that line itself urges and guides the next movement. Rather than calculated aesthetics, it remains as a unique record of condensed energy of that moment. It is the most honest practice of breaking free from the prison of perfectionism.

The Brutal Void — Archival Ink, 136 x 106cm
An attempt to capture the primordial essence of the void. Aligned with the Buddhist concept of Śūnyatā (emptiness), it visualises the idea that all existence arises through mutual relationships, and that even emptiness is full of all possibilities. Through 'deconstructive gradation' using thousands of minute drawing units, it captures the fleeting moment when form returns to nothingness.

Interview
Key questions and answers that penetrate the artist's philosophy and art world
It is a 'performative prescription' to overcome perfectionism and approach the essence. Standing before a clean, expensive canvas brings a paralysing feeling of 'I must do well'. But paper that has been crumpled and collecting dust in the corner of the studio is already in a 'state of failure'. The relief that there is nothing left to ruin sets me free. On it, I can finally move the pen as if tossing it, and that nonchalance creates the most honest lines.
